"Trumpet, eh?" says Mr Porpoise, patting you on the head like a pet dog. "Glad you said that".

Looking around the room you notice that you are getting a lot of admiring looks. Your parents seem pretty pleased about it anyway.

"Your Father and I are proud of you" your Mother tells you over a celebratory dinner that evening.

"We were worried you might be a closet clarinettist!" jokes your Father. You all laugh, in much the same way families do at the end of cheesy American sitcoms.

That night you can hardly sleep for the excitement of it all, and the very next day you are overjoyed to see your name down on the list for trumpet lessons.
